If you love Elvis and the Stray Cats then this is essential.

Elvis "Sings" and 2 of the 3 Stray Cats "Play the Instruments". Would have been awesome if the Elvis tape used was from the "Sun Recordings" and not the inferior radio show tapes. But that is not the fault of: Elvis, 2 of the 3 Stray Cats, or the Sound Engineers.

I have all these "as originally recorded" and "heck" I still enjoy this CD. If you are an Elvis purist and can't stand anything but the original "as recorded" then this is not for you. BUT if you love anything / everything Elvis (and I do) then try these. It would be great to have all of "The Kings" mono recordings re-done with new, but authentic backing music in stereo. The purist need not buy them, but if tastefully done I would certainly re-buy the "modern" re-recordings .

BMG/Sony: Since you own the rights to the pre- 1973 Elvis Catalogue isn't this a great way for you to make more money ????"
