Singer/songwriter Eliott James' first CD release, "EP", blends poetic lyrics with multi-layered acoustic guitars. Four of the five songs on "EP" were written by James. He also performs the classic JJ Cale tune, "Sensitive Kind" but unlike the style of the original or other cover versions. His style crosses the boundaries of folk into pop-rock, adult contemporary and back and yet sounds different than most anything to date. There's an emotional warmth and depth in the lyrics and instrumentation that makes his songs intimate, yet bitter-sweet. His expressive voice is up front and center and he uses it to not only tell the story but to set the mood. James had been a seasoned club and college circuit performer long before the phrase "unplugged" was coined and he uses acoustic guitars, acoustic bass, piano, dumbek and other instruments to intricately weave around his lyrics on his debut CD.
