"While nothing can hope to surpass Queen's original, Electric Six's cover is respectable though perhaps not wholly inspired, and I actually consider the video to be not tasteless but (gasp!) a touching and appropriately cheeky homage to Frederick (Faroukh) Bulsara, aka Freddie Mercury. I think Freddie would have approved. To go off making accusations of homophobia smacks of self-righteous PC and is seriously missing the point (are you making some reference to their song "Gay Bar" which is actually quite fun and tongue in cheek ... even one of my gay friends is a big fan). Electric Six are still one of the few bands making it safe for rockers and dancers, gays and straights alike to unite start nuclear war on the dance floor!"

"I've heard about all of the angry Queen fans around the world who are outraged by the video of this song. Give me a break. Queen is one of my favorite bands and this song is just a fun paean to the kind of absurdity that Queen, particularly Freddie Mercury, fully endorsed. One of my best friends worships Queen as the greatest band in history, but he enjoyed this song! I'm sure that Freddie Mercury is laughing in rock heaven right now, and that he would definitely enjoy seeing Dick Valentine doing a parody of him. Electric Six is just good, rocking fun, and the whole homophobia thing is just music critic B.S."
