"Well, edwin is out with his 2nd solo release, and it was a long time coming. Me, being into his other project 'I Mother Earth' from years ago, picked up the first Solo CD '...Around the Sun' a while ago. It was a hit or miss affair with about half of the disc being quite good, while the other half is pretty ordinary.

I knew on this release it would be different, just didnt know in what way. Its been years since his last release. So i picked it up out of curiosity and to see if the hard rock aspects would still be there, i was disappointed. But his voice is still startlingly smooth and there are some great vocals here, especially on 'Eyes of a Child'.

AOR style soft rock fills most of the disc. The songs are OK but nothing earth shattering. I see the photos on the card and back of disc, showing Edwin totally cleaned up, trying to look like a babe magnet, i would have stayed away if i had seen it in the store. I see he is trying for the Female/Pop rock crowd more than ever. Gone are the rock/Hard rock days.

If you like soft rock you may like this. But a few of the songs are really weak. A couple tracks are decent, but very far removed from the Edwin of old. If Your into IME Edwin style, dont bother. This is NOT that! But if you like soft rock and introspective lyrics you may find some of this CD to your liking."
A long wait but worth it...

"Edwin (Ghazal) was the frontman for Canadian band I mother earth for their first couple of albums before leaving in 1997. Two years later he released an amazing collection of songs called Another Spin Around the Sun. The CD had many Canadian hits like Alive, And You, Rush, Hang Ten and a lot more Lennon-influenced music that has to be heard to be appreciated. His 2002 effort woith his band the Pressure was followed by a four year retreat from the spotlight to deal with personal issues. Well, Edwin is back with another near-perfect album of very personal and fortright material, and a nice visit to his past with an acoustic version of Alive at the end. My only complaint is that his releases are so infrequent. My only other complaint is that the USA needs to disciover this guy's talent! Pick this one up and get another Spin Around the Sun as quickly as you can!!!"
