Edith Piaf transformed French Chanson into a serious and dramatic art form. Her uncompromisingly fierce dignity made her an iconic figure, with a repertoire delivered in untutored style supported by raw emotion. Piaf of course has been the the subject of the internationally succesful film 'La Vie En Rose' in which Marion Cotillard as Piaf is a dream to watch.
