"It's funny...when I think of Eddie Holman, I instantly think, "Oh,yeah, the guy who sang "Hey There Lonely Girl." Well...imagine my surprise when I came across a "homemade" (read: bootleg)slow-jam CD titled "Love to Love--1977" and I knew (and possessed) all of the tracks except track #5. When I first heard it, I remarked that it sounded like a mature Eddie Holman, but it couldn't be...after all, he had ridden off into the sunset after the 1970 album, right? I put the disc in a computer which told me the names and artists of the tracks and...I'll be damned! It WAS Eddie Holman! Naturally, when I went to my local record store, the CD was waaaaay out of print. So, I went online and ordered it from amazon.com. The album itself isn't much, but this song, titled "You Make My Life Complete," is a MUST-HAVE. This is a slow jam that was seriously overlooked; it should have been a hit! Especially at the end, he mixes his trademark fragile, aching falsetto with his background singers, making sure they have his back, and the result is a sublime yet rousing slow-jam. Do yourself a favor and check it out!"
