CD Reviews

Tom would have loved to listen to his own songs.
F. H. Polet | Oosterhout Netherlands | 11/19/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Very good interpretation on how Tom (or Antonio Carlos)Jobim would like to have his own music performed. The choice of songs on this c.d. is very good when you keep in mind that Mr.Jobim composed more than 800 songs. But not all of his songs became that famous(yet). In my opinion Jobim is the most important composer of the last century, and this c.d. is a must have for every fan of his wonderful music. You can either listen seriousely to this c.d. or play it as a background c.d. for cocktailhours and dinners. I highly recommend this c.d. for everyone who likes Jobim's music!"
A Perfect Match
James Armstrong | Placentia, CA USA | 01/06/2005

"Some of the loveliest piano playing I've ever heard, illuminating some of the loveliest songs of our time. Higgins, a master of American jazz and pop idioms, surprised me with his keen feeling for Jobim. Bassist Jay Leonhart and drummer Terry Clarke are perfectly in synch with Higgins."
Speaking of Jobim

"This is the finest trio music of Jobim compositions I have encountered. The music glides with the finesse of the Brazilian National soccer team. Not to be missed if you are a fan of Jobim."
