"A friend of mine burned me a cd that has this album and Hope in Anguish on it. What the heck happened to this band?

The Light in Guinevere's Garden is quickly becoming one of my favorite metal (or whatever you call this style this week) albums. At times they sound a lot like SlipKnot, others like Alice in Chains, and often very original. However you want to classify the sounds, this album is awesome. The drumming is awesome, lots of double kicking and tempo shifts. The guitar playing is also very good for this genre. And the vocals are top notch as well. My hopes were high as this album ended and the mixed disc evolved into Hope in Anguish... I hate when a band lets you down. Hope in Anguish sounds like... like it could be a demo this band made about 10 years before they made The Light in Guinevere's Garden. The complexity of the drumming and guitar parts on TLIGG is nowhere to be found on Hope in Anguish, and the vocals... it sounds like their singer quit singing cold turkey for about 20 years before going to the studio again.... but hey, this is a review of The Light in Guinevere's Garden, so enough negativity. Buy this album and lets all pray that East West one day makes a return to the talent and potential they displayed on this album. We need more good music like The Light in Guinevere's Garden and less drivel like Hope in Anguish."
VERY GOOD BALANCE OF SONGS

"I really liked a lot of these songs. I liked the fast ones a lot and I even liked their slower songs - their slow song "She Cries" is very pretty and "Song X" and "Wake" are just awesome.

Like hard rock/metal? This is for you!"
My Second Metal Disc Ever....

"It's been awhile since I last listened to this cd. Some time last year, I think. East West has came up with a rare decent Nu Metal cd and when I got I listened to it pretty regulary because I didn't have a real big metal collection at the time. As time went on and the more metal cds I got, the less I listened to this album and this style of metal. I'm not saying that nu-metal is totaly bad, it's just that I never really got into this style when I first got into metal. As for the music, it's like a mix of Korn, a little emo, some Tool (not much), a little techno if I remember right, and even a little U2. All in all, it's not bad; it's just not one of my favorite cds or bands. If you do like nu-metal and tired of all the Korn ripoffs, then get this one. And while you are at it, pick up some stuff from Project 86 and from the way-far-more superior Demon Hunter."
