Better than ANYTHING on radio or tv!

"if you have the first earthlings? self titled cd, this will seem like a good addition to the laid-back and strange style they've created for themselves. fans of Che, Queens of the Stone Age, Desert Sessions, Radiohead and other laid back tracks should dig this.they open with Visionary Messenger, and with Josh Homme on vocals (you'd never know it was him) they play with a groovy sample and really odd vocal stylings. Ground Control is next, and this is a really light track that could have come off QOTSA's Rated R. Lifeboat plays over a really cool bassline that plays slowly in high/low intervals. another really quiet and laid back cut. Rock Dove kicks things up, with a really catchy electronic sample, faster tempo and some of the cooler lyrical stylings on the album (plus Dave Grohl on drums). then things grind to a hault with a cover of Johnny B. Goode - played at about 2 rpm and sung in monotone. no rockin' guitar solo here...real earthlings? style! Vegan Meth sounds like something off a Damage Manual cd, and suddenly the electronics drop out leaving you with soothing violin music. the violin continues into Moomns Over Millenniums, a song that has a odd beatles vibe to it. it's one of the more upbeat, straightforward tracks on the disc. From Beyond Space Valley is next, hitting you with a totally stripped down stoner groove and wacked out vocal stylings. You Will Say is my least favorite track on the disc, where words are spoken over a repeating bassline. the whole track is too pointless and repetitive for me, but it's the only one i don't like. they end it with Big Hairy Spider, and i don't even know what to say about this mix of stoner/space/rap or whatever it may be. it's something only the earthlings? can do, so you know you'll feel it...overall, this cd is quite different from the self titled predecessor, and there's nothing wrong with that. i don't know if i like it better, but it's still a really cool listen. one thing you must admit - these guys are totally original. (which counts for serious points) if you want something that you can just put on the headphones and lay back to, this is your album. Great for drifting off into space...."

"Totally different...especially like the make of Johnny B Good. Worth the money if you're looking for something new, not commercial and a little different.!"
