CD Reviews

Underrated group in the USA
Jaap-Jan de Greef | Parrish, Florida USA | 11/07/1999
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Earth&Fire has long been disbanded.Strangely no one has ever heard from them in the USA, which is sad. They had some very impressive hits like 'Storm and Thunder""Invitation""Green Park Station" and "Maybe tomorrow maybe tonight" which richly deserved airtime but never got it. For those fans who like rock with a bit of heavy mood try listening to a sound clip."

"Thank you Ben Miler(previous reviewer)for doing all the hard work for me.I agree 90%.I saw Earth and Fire as warm up for Focus in 72 or 73 and they blew me away. This is very prog-
popish with beautiful vocals and solid instrumentation.
Atlantis and To The World are the more prog of the 3,and Gate is a little more prog pop,but still great. The extra trax here
is what brings this box down to 4 stars, which are mainly
b-sides,and a couple from their first record.I was very happy when this 2disc set was released, because my old records are very worn, too bad they did not put on Song for the Marching
Children instead of the filler.Agreat package indeed."

"I agree with the previous writers-here in the US most people have never heard of this group-what a loss. If you start talking about E&F, they think you are mistaken, that you want to talk about Earth Wind & Fire. I used to own this album in 1981, in Africa. I lost it and have never been able to locate it.I credit my interest in music, music appreciation skills and openmindedness to this group. Today I stumbled upon their website-www.earth-and-fire.nl/english/albums.htm.Unfortunately the site was not responding well. But at least now I have hope of finding it. My favorite piece was "Season of the Falling Leaves". I should also say that I was only 19 when I got the album and it was the only one I ever listened to. But listening to all the reviews on this site, I am certainly collecting all the rest."
