Album Description

The chilling, psychedelia-drenched self-titled debut from this UK band is a dense mix of the trio's influences: Spiritualized, Mogwai, Television, Neu, and Tortoise. A sound that lies somewhere between their joint love for ambient noise, motorik beats, drones, feedback, harmony, and melody. They've been a fixture of late night MTV2 rotation, and recently created the soundtrack for a Nike World Cup commercial. The US version of this album contains a bonus disc with four additional tracks and two videos. Incredible debut

"The Early Years have put together a great album with their self-titled debut. Their 'sound' is easy to recognize, and not many bands have the good fortune of finding it so early in their career. By the second listen this became one of my favorite albums of the year. In fact, its one of my favorites since Califone's Roots & Crowns. And much like that album, this one is best listened through; from beginning to end. Great mix of atmospheric build-ups and stunning rock guitar parts. Can't wait to see how these three guys develop their sound from here."

"Loved this album. Would highly recommend to many whom are of the Brit Isles lineage. While the songs are all different in their construct, I would say the album flows rather nicely. Good for a cloudy, green landscape day."
