Cool, but no surprises

"This album is notable for a tribute to John Cage, called "Space Theme". With its hypnotic loops of ethereal synths and guitars, this is one of the best ambient pieces I've ever heard. Unfortunately, the rest of the cd is not very interesting. Some of the tracks are lengthy and E.A.R. are not capable of holding the listener's attention. Other experimental guitar bands like Seefeel, Main and Bowery Electric have done this with more passion, drama and wit. But if this is to be your first E.A.R. album, it's a good purchase."
