CD Reviews

Outstanding performances of the Dvorak pieces
D. R. Schryer | Poquoson, VA United States | 03/26/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Kyung-Wha Chung is an outstanding violinist. Her performance of the Dvorak violin concerto is as beautiful as any I've ever heard and her performance of the Dvorak Romance is simply gorgeous. I am not a Bartok fan and, therefore, cannot fairly evaluate the Bartok Rhapsodies. Nevertheless, this CD would be worth two or three times its incredibly low price for Chung's superb performances of the Dvorak pieces."
Dvorak sounds like Mozart
Gregory Olsen | San Ramon, CA | 01/21/2009
(3 out of 5 stars)

"Kyung-Wha Chung plays this very straight and it lacks the bohemian flavor one would expect of a Dvorak piece. She plays it very sensitively, too sensitively, and it comes across like Mozart rather than influenced by Bohemian folk music."
