Synopsis

Album Description
400 Miles, the new EP from DUFF, takes the listener on a highly personal pop rock journey led by Duff Ferguson, a singer songwriter with "outrageously deceptively perfect vocals." (Smother). Backed by one of the strongest rhythm sections heard today in Los Angeles, including Rick Barrio on bass and George Bernardo on drums, and gilded with silky harmony vocals from Teri Untalan, DUFF has created a hands down pop winner packed with energy and feeling. Duff's clear tenor voice, which echoes those of Chris Martin, Jeff Buckley, and Hank Williams, always walks the strongest melodic path through his inventive, hooky pop rock songs. Duff's lyrics document the rigors of real relationships and the simple perils of everyday life, illuminating different angles on his honest character and creating an immediate bond with listeners. The first radio single, "Suddenly," is a bright pop number with melodies that echo the elation of falling in love. Close on its heels is "Adrenaline," a fun rocking track with a touch of hillbilly country that playfully criticizes the party animals that take things a little too far? a little too often. The title track, "400 Miles," is a dark, deeply moving ghost story about a long drive to fulfill a promise made to a lover who perished. "You Can Try" picks up the pace again with a sharp guitar attack and lyrics that find Duff playfully asserting his independence. Rounding out the record is "Sigh," a song that belies Duff?s love of traditional country crooners like Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, as he wails out his loneliness over piercing slide guitar and acoustic strumming. All told, it is a performance that places the band as "quite possibly one of the most magnificent rock outfits this side of pop-rock's biggest chart-toppers." (Smother) Have a listen today!
