Synopsis
Album Description Dubok's second album brings their sound further into the depths of the electro dancefloor, creating an album where sound becomes motion and where an object in motion remains in motion. "Technicolor" brings together the best in electro, industrial, ebm, trance, pop and synth, with an identifiable sound and a unique indivual character. Dubok skilfully draws on the ebm/electro of breakout acts like VNV Nation and Haujobb, touches on classic synthpop a la New Order while retaining the hard edge of industrial stalwarts like Frontline Assembly, and draws in the abstract trance-inducing rhythms of Underworld to create a fully evolved, utterly Dubok sound. Subtle and intelligent, emotionally and physically compelling, immensely stomp-inducing, Technicolor will appeal to fans of those bands and genres tired of the latest carbon copies and eager to hear where they can go next. The first edition of Technicolor comes with a bonus cd featuring exclusive remixes by Croc Shop, Cesium 137, Lost Signal, Headscan, Subliminal gravity, 4DB and Dorian Grey. Only 1000 of this disc will be made available! |
CD ReviewsWOW 09/23/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "This CD rules! I was so sick of industrial music (still am). But, this is one of the best CD's I've bought in the past 2 years. I liked Clear Vision, but even that track doesn't stand up to the rest of these songs. Listen to me! If you're sick of listening to electro-industrial because it's all starting to sound the same, buy this CD! I can't stop listening to it!" Brilliant electro pop musik sidiolanca | Peterbourogh, New York | 09/21/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "This cd just speaks volumes of the bands growth from the first album to the second album. You can dance or sing along to just about every track and the recording is wonderful. It's too bad there's not enough publicity for this young act as they are very promising. If you're into any electronic pop music at all you should give this a listen. To say this is an industrial only release is just plain wrong. Just very good beats and vocals and it's not too harsh. I loved it the moment I got it and can't stop listening to it. Thank you."
