Since 1989, Dr. Loco's Rockin' Jalapeno Band has been playing this rich melange of mestizo and mulatto styles in celebration of the diverse origins of our Mexican-American musical heritage. With this album we want to transmit both the joy inherent in this musica and the joy that we feel making it. --Dr. Loco This is the second album by this west coast-based nine-piece Mexican-American ensemble comprised of horns, accordion, guitar, bass and lots of precussion -- whose canciones (songs) of tolerance, struggle and human rights are set it to the infectious rhythms of the Latin American merengue, polka and cumbia.
