"First heard of Douglas September from the movie The Runner. Loved the song The Light. Had to have the CD. Looked all over for this CD! It was worth the looking! Great relaxing music all the way through from start to end. It is one of the best CDs I own!!!!!"

Murky, literate, Dylanesque rock

"At first listen this may come across as a record by someone spending too much time with Daniel Lanois produced Bob Dylan records ('Oh mercy'/'time out of mind'), a couple of plays later you'll be thinking differently. Although the sound of the record is has Lanois' trademark murky 3D ambience (although Lanois has nothing to do with it) September has his own sound and his own way of writing. Ok, so some of it sounds like Dylan in a vague way-mostly September's cracked voice-'Message in the wine' could almost be a cover of a Tom Waits junkyard blues - but the songs are all original, literate, and memorable.Standout tracks: Mystic river bridge, happy hour, vanishing night and the rest of it's pretty good, too."
