Two more classic Day LPs debut on CD

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Another two of Doris Day's albums are remastered and re-issued here by Sony Music with original back and front sleeve artwork.

"You're My Thrill" - holds great poignancy in relation to Doris's recording career as it was her first solo LP (long-play). The songs that featured on this compilation album were recorded between December 1948 - June 1949 and include her `Top 10' single "Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered". Originally issued as an eight track 10" LP the album was repackaged and renamed "Day Dreams" in 1955 on 12" format with four bonus tracks - both the "Day Dreams" cover artwork and these songs are also included in this release.

"Young At Heart" - In 1954 Doris and Frank Sinatra joined forces for this remake of the acclaimed 1938 picture "Four Daughters". Appropriately, Columbia Records released an album of songs from the movie which included new recordings by Doris: "You My Love", "Ready, Willing And Able", "Hold Me In Your Arms", "There's A Rising Moon" and "Til My Love Comes To Me" which was based on Mendelssohn's "On Wings Of A Song". As Sinatra was exclusively signed to Capitol, Columbia included tracks he had previously recorded for them during the `40s. Fortunately, "One For My Baby (And One More For The Road)" and "Someone To Watch Over Me" which he sang in the movie were amongst his Columbia archive treasures.

This CD also includes bonus tracks /raritites such as Doris and Frank's `Top 20' American single "Let Take An Old Fashioned Walk" and three other enchanting `50s solo tunes by Doris - one of which is notably the rare British single edit of "Soft As The Starlight" which debut worldwide on CD.

Great 2 in 1 cd

"Another great 2in1 cd, with this you get Doris's first solo lp with great versions of bewitched, bothered and bewildered, you go to my head and that old feeling. The second album is a studio version of the songs from that great film Young At Heart, so not only do you get Doris but you get the great Frank Sinatra (however the tracks that are Sinatras are earlier versions as he had an exclusive contract with Capitol) but this is still a great buy and well worth it if you like doris or frank."
