"Listening to solo piano music is not my favorite, but this CD breaks that mold. It is surprising to me that Dohnanyi's piano music is not more frequently performed. Each piece brings out the fullness of sound a piano can create, and each has its own character. Not one of the pieces included in this recording is without a beautiful melody contained somewhere, be it a piece that starts out slow, playfully, or in a blur of notes. Roscoe's interpretations are great too, and he brings out both Dohnanyi's soaring melodies and his characteristic capriciousness. This is one of my favorite CDs, containing some of my favorite piano pieces."

"I've never heard about Dohnany before i bought this cd. Few words to spend about him: he was an original and very interesting composer, his music is simply wonderful. A music enciclopledia writes that Dohnany was strongly estimated by the great Johannes Brahms. I've never listened to Martin Roscoe before but now i'm pleased to have done it. He's is a great pianist equipped with a strong technique and a exceptional tone. Despite this cd was realised back in 1993 its sound quality is absolutely excellent."
