Album Description

What separated Django Reinhardt from other guitarists of the 1930s was his unique style. His runs up the neck of the guitar were taken at breakneck speeds, leaving even the most respected guitarist shaking his head in disbelief. His original compositions and his arrangements of both European and American jazz standards of the thirties and forties caught the spirit of the period. Throughout this third volume in the Naxos Jazz Legends survey of Django?s recordings, his phenomenal guitar playing is supremely stylish and memorable. He is supported by the members of the legendary Quintette of the Hot Club of France, and the vocal contributions are by Freddy Taylor.
