Synopsis

Album Description
Four piece punk rock, new wave 'n' roll from Orange County. But don't hold that against them. Taking a very different approach than the average OC tough guy punk band, The Distraction harkens back to a day when Generation X, The Professionals, The Boys, The Vapors, & Buzzcocks had their singles going steady on the radio! The Distraction don't take themselves or anything too seriously. 14 tracks. Dirtnap. 2002.

YOU DON'T PLAY ROCK AND ROLL!
Alberto | Valencia, Spain | 02/28/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album is dedicated to all the New Rock Revolution FAKES: "there's something wrong in your interview pages/what you're saying ain't what you're playing/rock/rock and roll/you don't play rock and roll", those who want to be the next NRR FAKES: "don't try to race/you'll finish last/don't worry about it/and have a blast" and those who want to start a REAL ROCK REVOLUTION: "start it up/bring the beat/get something going/move your feet/guitars are high/the bass is low/the band is steady/get up and go/yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah/start it up right now". Maybe not the best, but they're crystal-clear.
P.S. I think they split up, and this is the best they can do. They showed you the way and gave you the word!Text inspiration by RUTA 66 (rock magazine #1), like Ron Wood "inspired" Hey Negrita."
