CD Reviews

The musical turning pont towards Thrash Metal
09/05/1999
(3 out of 5 stars)

"This Album is musically ruthless! No wonder Metallica saw fit to include two of there songs on their new release, "Garage Inc." I was blown away by the ripping guitar assault! Cheers to an underrated band!"
The Real "Cheers to an Under-Rated Band"
02/28/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Why is it that the dude below wrote "Cheers to an under-rated band" but only gave this CD three stars??? This CD is England's beyond-core to the max. This is full-on, no holds barred English punk rock mayhem from the early 80's, and it kicks ass!!! More than an incredibly powerful a-political statement against war and the arms race and the widespread lust for power in world politics, the music is ingeniously arranged and highly energetic, to put it mildly (but caveat emptor- the music may sound 'harsh' to sensitive listeners). When the celebrated punk-rock critic Josh Lambert first listened to this CD he said, and I quote, "I swear man, I hear classical music in this, its that deep!" Maybe that's because Bones was the guitarist- a musician who has burned his own trail away from simple punk bar chords and blasted out into a new realm of the unleashed solo. Punk rockers- this CD is a must!*Note: Bones now plays in "The Business" and it is rumoured that after their summer gigs Discharge will be reforming for a reunion tour. You'll see me there, diving off of the stage! Oi!"
