Synopsis

Album Description
Dirty Vegas, the UK dance trio, was formed in 2001 which includes DJ/producer Paul Harris, musician/DJ Ben Harris and singer Steve Smith. Their first single "Days Go By" was a Top 20 hit in UK in late 2001, followed by its huge success in the US a few months later when the song appeared in a car commercial for the Mitsubishi Eclipse. The Trip is a brand new series from Family Recordings designed to take the listener on a unique musical journey across any and all genres while crossing many musical barriers. Each album in the series will be compiled and mixed by a specially invited guest DJ or collective to create their own unique compilation. Dirty Vegas' The Trip is the first in the series. Upon a glance at the track listing will confirm that the acclaimed dance trio has followed the instructions to the letter, and then some. Brilliantly crafted, the album provides the listeners with "timeless references to unforgettable memories" ? a must-have in anyone's music collection.

Children of the 80's Rejoice!
E. J. W. | Lincoln, NE United States | 03/07/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Ok, here's the deal. I like this CD. It is a good CD. I've listened to it several times in a row on occasion. It has songs that most will find familiar and even sing along to. Growing up in the 80's and early 90's, these are the songs I listened to before I knew what electronic music was. Alterations to the songs are subtle but worth the listen. Likely as not you'll find yourself jammin' out to what you're listening to. Take a look at the track list, then take a ride down memory lane. This disk is almost exactly what you would expect to hear late on a slow night in the club. So, raise your glass and say hi to that stranger sitting next to you at the bar."
These are songs that are surprising fun

"Think of this as a playlist for an ipod, not a remix album. This is an effort by the band to turn people on to songs that wouldn't necessarily be on your list of dance party tunes; but trust me, at 4 a.m. you'll be singing along at the top of your lungs."
