The Dirty Americans deliver the goods the old fashioned way

"THE BAND: Myron (vocals), Jeff Piper (guitars), Patrick Bever (bass), Jeremiah Pilbeam (drums & percussion). Hailing from Detroit, MI.

THE DISC: (2005) 13 tracks clocking in at just over 49 minutes. Included with the disc is a 4-page foldout containing song titles/credits, song lyrics, band photos, and thank you's. The case itself is a tri-fold with colorful 70's style artwork. Recorded at 747 Studios, Memphis, TN - producer Paul Ebersold (3 Doors Down, Sister Hazel, Skillet, Third Day). All songs written by Dirty Americans. The disc is 'enhanced' - featuring a quick bio and "Strange Generation" video. Label - Liquor & Poker Music / Roadrunner Records.

COMMENTS: The Dirty Americans deliver straight ahead (slightly) blues infused rock and roll. Some of these songs are right out of the 1970's. Other songs are sandwiched somewhere between the likes of Lenny Kravitz and the Queens Of the Stone Age. The album kicks off with the hard driving "No Rest". It continues with their first (minor) hit "Car Crash"... with its catchy, poppy, toe-tapping hook. The title track is fun and fast-paced as well. As much as the Dirty American's can rock, they can also slow it down. Check out the bluesy heartfelt "Give It Up", "Deep End", and the album closer "We Were Young". I find myself listening to the whole disc - without need to hit the skip button. As many highlights there are featuring the electric guitar, there are some equally beautiful acoustic moments here too. Production is crisp and fllawless. Living in Arizona, I haven't heard too much about the Dirty Americans of late - here's hoping the band can get a break and they catch on! Looking for new music - give this a try (4.5 stars)."
