Incredible find!!

"I found this mixed cd while browsing the electronic section in a local music store a few years ago. After recognizing some names of artists that I like on the track listing I decided to purchase it. Ever since first hearing this mix I have been amazed that I have never really heard of Dietrich Schoenemann. A couple years have passed since "An Agenda and a Beat" was released, and I'm pretty sure Mr. Schoenemann has yet to release another mix. This may not matter, however, because it doesn't get much better than "An Agenda and a Beat." The record selection is superb, covering tribal, groove-oriented techno, spaced-out house, and a couple other surprises! What may be most impressive with this mix is two of the best tracks ("19 Bullets" & "Puhser L") are tracks made by Dietrich Schoenemann himself, proving his prowness extends beyond the turntables. Fans of Steve Lawler, Richie Hawtin, & Carl Cox should thoroughly enjoy this seamlessly mixed selection. Other standout tracks include: "Waiting for Me," "Flicker and Out, and "Mod-U-Like.""
Absolutely stellar...

"Can't find enough good things to say about this CD. This pretty much blows all of the other big techno mix CD's that were released over the past year (Frankie Bones, Misstress Barbara, Carl Cox etc.) out of the water. What makes this CD so great is that Dietrich eschews typical "floor stomper" type beats for sophisticated electronic type music. Every record is weird and completely whacked-out sounding but the whole thing grooves all the way through. Dietrich Schoenemann could very well turn into one of the biggest producers of the new millennium if his recent output is any indicator. What else can you say when your records are so good that Claude Young, Josh Wink, AND Danny Tenaglia regularly feature you in their sets? (Check out track #4, "19 Bullets", if you don't believe yet.)If you feel like techno hasn't lived up to its promise, or if you feel like techno has somehow fallen on the wayside behind other genres - I can almost guarantee you this CD will change your mind. And if you like this, be sure to pick up Adam X's Wax Trax! Mastermix, which is another non-studio edited mix of some bizarre futuristic vibes."
