Synopsis

Product Description
On DownTemple Dub: Roots, Desert Dwellers apply their psy-trance, chillout sound to music inspired by travelers along the Silk Road.

Tracing the routes of the ancient Silk Road, Desert Dwellers lead an electro-mystic exploration of nomadic music and the timeless concept of groove. A caravan of sound drawing from East Asia to the Mediterranean moves through a sensual psy-chill soundscape, bridging the millennia and connecting cultural past to musical future.

Amani Friend and Rara Avis again join forces with Craig Kohland (Shaman s Dream), Treavor Moontribe and a diverse cast of talented musicians for the third installment in the DownTemple Dub series: ROOTS.

CD Reviews

Best of Desert Dwellers to date!
Keith Duckworth | 06/25/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I started with Waves and Flames, both of which I love. However, they can be a bit repetitive.

Roots is a fusion of a few genres, as mentioned in the description. The grooves are great and this album is great for many different settings - hookah lounge, down by the creek, jogging, making dinner, you name it. It will make you want to move your hips and/or just chill out."
My favorite yoga jam

"Desert Dwellers - they do an amazing job combining liquid, fluid vibes with a steady beat - perfect for a short yoga practice. The Desert Dweller session runs smoothly without pause fir about an hour: starts with a mellow sitar melody & progresses into downtempo beats..ends relaxingly.... Definitly recommended if you are into fusion style dub tracks. Desert Dweller Love * * * * *"
