Synopsis

Album Description
DEMIRICOUS "ONE" will change the Metal landscape as we know it. "ONE" was recorded and mixed at Planet-Z studios with Zeuss (Hatebreed, The Red Chord, Shadows Fall) in June 2005. "We are just trying to write a solid thrash album that we hope will contribute something different to today?s metal scene with the vocals and everything. I don?t know what direction we are going in but not a whole lot of bands are going this direction. We just play the music that we want to hear. Plain and simple?this is what I want to hear....so I guess we have to make it ourselves," states the band. Guitarist Scott Wilson comments, "I'm old school and I miss the rage? and the hooks, and the solos," and "ONE" delivers all the rage, hooks, and solos metal heads have been waiting for.

CD Reviews

Best new thrash band of this millennium
A. Stutheit | Denver, CO USA | 04/27/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Demiricous have just one album out so far, but this record, which is entitled "One (Hellbound)" and was released in January, is a thrashsterpiece. I'll even go out on a limb and say that it will be one of the (maybe THE) best thrash discs to be released in all of 2006 (it will even overshadow Slayer's new disc, which is due in August.) Demiricous are surely the best thrashers to come along in a while, and they might very well be the best since The Haunted formed in 1996!

The guitar work is wild, frenetic, and off the charts. The ultra fast, intense and heavy riffs echo Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman (circa 1986), and the guitar solos are similar to other thrash groups because they're none-too-technical. Next, the drums are very quick (even though they're barely audible because of the guitars), and Nate Olp's high pitched, retching vocals wouldn't be out of place on a black metal album. This vocal style might be a bit grating in spots (especially at first), but it also helps Demiricous to stand out from other bands, like the aforementioned Slayer.

"One (Hellbound)" begins with "Repentagram," which is quite similar to Slayer's 1986 song "Angel Of Death." "Repentagram" shoots by at a ferocious speed with pounding, blistering riffs, and a guitar solo is also slipped into the mix. "Withdrawl Divine" is another blindingly fast track which features scorching (and occasionally chugging) riffs and a searing solo. Track three, "Vagrant Idol," keeps your blood pumping. It's backed by stomping, machine gun guitars and a few deep, "angry bear"-like barks. The fourth song, "Beyond Obscene," might be the best of the bunch. It builds from a mid-paced chug to a buzzsaw rhythm and includes four (mini) solos.

"Heathen Up (Out For Blood)" is slower and churning, but the next song after that, "Cheat The Leader," returns the album to its usual, speed of light, steamrolling tempo. The last songs I'll mention are "Matador," which has a hooky, bobbing beat with punching power chords, and the album closer, "Hellraisers," which features a catchy, memorable, shout-along chorus.

So, if you haven't heard of this Indianapolis based four piece yet, you definitely should get to know them because they're going to be huge. And if you enjoy thrash or speed metal, or if you've ever wondered what it was like listening to "Reign In Blood" for the first time in the 1980's, "One (Hellbound)" is definitely an album worth owning."
Real thrash with no complaints!!!

"On a secene oversaturated of the swedish death metal and the boring metalcore, is good to hear that one band's commintment is to change the terrific music scenario, this is Demiricous. This is one of a hell album, with terrific guitar riffs, incredible drums and great vocals. Like the reviews said: a very influential from Slayer. So if you like bands like Summon and Watch Them Die, this is for you!!!

THE RETURN OF TRUE F**KING METAL!!!!!!!

"This cd is a breath of fresh air in the world of METAL. I don't mind the whole metal/core stuff, but I've had enough (if your into bands like Atreyu, forget about it you are already a lost cause). This is what I and probably other metalheads have been waiting for. Most of the songs have a SLAYER sound to them , which they pull off just fine. The overall sound is very metal/thrash.If you like SLAYER, old Nuclear Assault, Venom, Pantera... you will like this album. Anyways enough writing, just go buy this cd. This is the return of METAL. Now I just need a new SLAYER album.666"
