2007 special two disc (CD + PAL/Region 0 DVD) digipak edition of the controversial Death Metal quartet's tenth album features a bonus DVD that includes a 35 minute documentary entitled 'Behind The Scars (Under The Skin Of Deicide)'. Scars Of The Crucifix was originally released in 2004 and was the band's first on Earache Records. It keeps to the same basic format as their previous works, but with a definite progression from their prior album In Torment In Hell. The overall style and image of the album reflects their earlier album Once Upon A Cross but tracks such as 'Go Now Your God Is Dead' and 'When Heaven Burns' show that the band are capable of musical and lyrical progression.
