CD Reviews

Evil Satanic Garbage

"This CD is complete Garbage. These guys are just a bunch of untalented devil worshiping atheists. It's just a bunch of loud noise and grunting. Don't buy this CD or else you'll go to hell. If you listen to this junk then you're responsible for the death and crucifixion of my lord and savior

No, I'm just messing with you. This CD is awesome. Go ahead and buy it; another great release from Deicide.

THEIR HEAVIEST ALBUM.

"I cant believe how aggressive and heavy this album is.The guitar work is really good and bentons vocals are very heavy. The detuned guitars make this release unforgetable and the production is also good.Deicide fans should already own this because this is one of their best."
Introduction To Deicide and the CD's Review

"
First a small intro about the band. Deicide is a band that is highly satanic. The band is probably one of the most satanic band you'll see as every song they make is about satanism. They claim satan is their master and so on. To many people the band members are just sick people (as shown by a person ripping off a lizard's tail in a special edition CD). The band started off with two albums Deicide then Legion and both were good (for Deicide's standings). Then came thieir next 4 albums. The first two of these (including Once Upon the Cross and Serpent blah blah blah) was a very noticeable step down from their first two. their last two was just horrible and a poor excuse for death metal. They broke off of their label, got a new label, and then made an album called .. God what was it called umm... Scars Of The Crucifixation ( I spelled Crucifixation wrong I am sure). The album was one of their best yet and there was a noteable difference with the songs on that album which is highly different for Deicide. Right now they are working on their Stench Of Redemption album which will come out on the last day of August.

This band is considered to be average in the death metal world. I personally have to agree. Deicide's Once Upon The Cross is a very average album. It's really simple. All of the songs almost sound the same all the way. There's only a slight change on every song. Although despite this this is a good album to listen to as a whole. I usually listen to it once a month and throughly enjoy it. It is still worth the time to get it. It is not bad at all by any means.

Track Listing:

1. Unce Upon The Cross: Great way to open up a CD. Get used to the sound cause that's what the entire album sounds like. 9/10

2. Christ Denied: Nothing new to speak of here but it's good. 9/10

3. When Satan Rules His World: Only thing that tells this song apart is the When Satan Rules His World part of the song 8/10

4. Kill The Christian: Heavy ending here. 8/10

5. Trick Or Betrayed: Great song with some of the best lyrics the band has written. 10/10

6. Children Of The Underworld: Pale song 5/10

7. Behind The Light Thou Shall Rise: Longest instrumental on the CD but nothing special until it comes to the instrumental. 7/10

8. To Be Dead: Sounds a lot like the last song but the last song is better. 8/10

9 Confessional Rape: The drumming and guitars are awesome on here. Great way to close the CD and my favorite off this album. 10/10

There is better CDs believe it or not from this band. This is a good place to start though since a lot of times people who listen to the older stuff and likes it doesn't like the new stuff as much."
