Babe | London, England | 01/20/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Defleshed are producing flesh-ripping, throat-tearing, eardrum-popping death metal following in the finest tradition of Swedish Metal bands from 'Bathory' to 'Deranged'. All hail to them! Who would have thought that a Swedish trio could produce that much noise...and what noise! It is best savoured live - I actually saw Defleshed supporting Cannibal Corpse, a challenge other European bands would hesitate to take on, but these three guys nearly stole the show - but as long as Defleshed are being one of the better kept secrets of the metal scene, Under the Blade has to be the next best thing. Crunching riffs, howling, growling, thoroughly unhuman vocals, pounding drums delivered with the Scandinavian talent for songwriting which puts Defleshed a notch above the rest. Play it loud!"
