Robert Carlberg | Seattle | 06/11/2005 (5 out of 5 stars) "This album, variously titled "To Tell The Truth," "Maybe My Scars are a Map to Eden," and most recently "Thrown For A Loop" has been in production since at least 1998. In 2002 David posted the tracks on MP3.com for free download, but I just checked and they're no longer available.
To my knowledge this stuff has yet to find a commercial release. This is a damn shame, because this is some of the most vibrant and imaginative music he's ever done. It's almost entirely instrumental, largely percussion-triggered samples, but rhythmically and melodically very complex. Here's hoping that someday it'll see a real release. Update 3/2009, Van Tieghem's website provides hope: "(projected release: 2009) Release info to be announced soon..." " |
