Synopsis

Album Description
In spite of the extremely competitive music industry, American guitar wizard David Neil Cline is well on his way to global popularity. With the new release of his third solo efforts, "Thorough Scrutiny" released on his own record label "Gazochtahagen Records"; David has once again proved to the world that he can rock with the big guys. Taking a kind of Frank Zappa approach to the production of this CD, David has intertwined the songs with his own blend of comedy, strange keyboard effects and whatnot. This really makes this CD more interesting and less typical compared to the average hard rock album that have a pause between songs. When playing the first track "Ol? DC intro" you can plainly see what I am talking about. Then the second track "Take it or Leave it" blasts into a very cool guitar riff followed by an appealing, grinding Hammond organ rhythm and great harmony vocals with a nice hook. If it weren?t for the fact that the song is five minutes and thirty-three seconds long, it would be a great addition and blessing to mainstream radio. The third track "The Fate of Pain" starts with a melodic, acoustic guitar intro. Then blasts into a loud and powerful Guitar rhythm with once again cool vocals obviously written about an X relationship. Anyone that love?s great heavy rock is sure to be hooked by the end of this song. Track four "Life Under Glass" is another sure foot stomper. Track five "Queen of the skyways" written about the crash of the Hindenburg in the late 30's, is another very catchy tune that will have you bobbing your head and singing along in no time. In fact all but track six "Morpheus", which is a short but nicely done acoustic guitar instrumental, the whole CD is very up tempo. David?s lead guitar work is fast, furious and wickedly brilliant. What keyboards are on the CD sound very professional. David?s vocals are very strong and in good key. JD Donnelly?s Bass work is very creative and really adds to the songs. Drums handled by Dexter Arney and Jeff Giovannangeli, both excellent drummers in my book. I would have to say after hearing David?s previous releases; this is surely his finest work to date. Bringing you fourteen tracks at fifty-three minutes and twenty-nine seconds of total listening pleasure. As David continues to get recognition all over Europe, Japan and Southern US, only time will tell as to how far this independent musician will take his music career. Perhaps paving the way for all other hard working, well deserved, talented musicians; ignored by the major labels.
