Snapshots of Life
Mark J. Moerman | Vancouver, USA | 05/01/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Dave Nachmanoff is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who has an uncommon knack for capturing the nuances and realities of life in song. Sometimes humorous (the on-line relationship fable "RL" or "Cautionary Tale," a song about his dog), sometimes haunting ("I'm From Nowhere", "Memory"), and sometimes witty and clever ("Civilization and Its Discontents"). For my money, Dave is at his best when he simultaneously captures an air of both the profound and the innocent, as in the gorgeous "Thing of Beauty," which looks at the desire to achieve meaning or purpose in one's life without getting the least bit preachy or sentimental. Do yourself a favor and check out Dave's music!"
Snapshots and inspirations
Mark J. Moerman | 06/14/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Dave is a talented songwriter and instrumentalist. His songs tell stories of life's experiences and the excitment of a live concert comes through on this CD. 'RL' is a great story about a blooming on-line love affair. 'Memory' and 'I'm From Nowhere' are haunting and sad. 'Inside Connection', which opens with the instrumental 'O'Carolan's Draught' is brilliant. It is a wonderful medley of the old and new. 'Battle Scars', 'Wash Us Clean', 'Thing of Beauty' and 'Waiting for the Light to Change' are completely inspirational. Overall, a pleasant listen with lots of inspiration and wonderful music."
