German Darkwave at its finest

"This was the first album I picked up by this artist. At first listen there was only 1 track that I really liked (Engel) but the more I listened to it the more I liked it. Favorite songs include: "Engel" "Keimzeit" "Das Dunkle Land" and "Sodom und Gomorra". Bruno Kramm adds backing vocals on "Das Dunkle Land",which is very nicely done, the combination of Stefan's whispery/growly vocals and Bruno's singing make this song killer. I just wish they would do more tracks like this one. This is a good album to start out with if you are just getting into this band. Afterwards I recommend you go for their earlier work "Egodram" or "Staub". If you dig Bruno's singing I highly recommend getting his sideproject "Kramm"."
Quite a good album...

"Being a long time fan of Das Ich, but not having sampled their latest work yet, I picked up a copy of this album at one of their concerts. Das Ich has evolved over the years from their original simple industrial noise into something much better. Not only has this album quickly displaced my old favorite album, Re-laborat, it's also caused Vater to quickly become one of my personal favorite songs. While the lyrics at first might feel a bit trite, after a few listens you find yourself singing along. There's always something oddly appealing in over-the-top gothic industrial lyrics, and the ones on this album are endlessly satisfying."
