CD Reviews

Exactly what I expected!!
Nathaniel Udel | Ft. Collins, CO USA | 03/02/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Nothing too fancy. Darran Emerson returns to doing another set in Global Underground after finishing his Underwater Episode compilations for the first time in years. This time, it is a set done in Bogata. The weird thing about this 2CD compilation is it sounded like Sander Kleinenberg's Nubreed!! Disc One started off with the Skyscraper Intro from Emerson's old group, Underworld and immediately went into action. There was a little bit of singing in it. It had the usual synths and house music that Darren would compile in his Underwater Episode compilations. Disc 2 is about the same.

Maybe Bogata didn't have as much action as Singapore, but a lot of good house music was used as the synth build up on the first disc. Skyscraper on the end of the 2nd disc was a revisit to the days of Underworld's Dubnobasswithmyheadman when Emerson was with the Underworld band. It may not have had as much as Singapore, but still good overall with energy for the dance floor. The weird thing about Bogata is that it sounded like Sander kleinenberg's Nubreed.

If you like this, be sure to check out Nubreed. Maybe it should occur for Sander Kleinenberg and Darren Emerson to release a compilation together after hearing this one!!"
