Power Metal...Or Is It?
A. Coulson | Columbia SC USA | 05/11/2006
(3 out of 5 stars)

"This album has a split personality. The first 6 tracks are solid, no-frills power metal that's upbeat, punchy and quite enjoyable. This is straight-up Heavy Metal, and sounds more American than Euro; even though there are alot of medieval warrior lyrics, the music has a heavier edge and lacks the frilly, bombastic nature alot of Euro power bands use nowadays. The next 3 tracks are almost glammy in nature, and are follwed by a decent but very light ballad. The last four tracks get back into power metal territory, but aren't as strong as the opening 6 songs (several of the 1st six can be heard on their website). I'm guessing that the album contains demos from different periods, and that the band has evolved from a rock-glam beginning into a more solid metal outfit. If all the tracks on here were as good as the 1st six, the album would easily rate 4 stars, maybe 5. If you hear the samples on their site, just be advised that alot of the album is not in the same league as those tracks. Here's hoping they'll return w/ a full album of the A-list material"
