CD Reviews

The Boy is Back....

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Welcome to Danziland!! Right off the bat, you know you are about to have some fun. I will say the Cd is good. The production quality is better than SLIT. Also, DD has a full band with him. Every member of the band can hold their own so now, DD has even more talent to work with. Clocking in with just over 60 minutes of music, I'd suggest you relax, grab your favorite fermented beverage and press play.
1. Intro...where in the world is he walking to? Ohhhhh....Danziland. 2. Danziland... Nice opening tune. Rocks.3. Eternity... Another high quality song. Keeps the energy up
following Danziland. 4. Matter of Time... A bit different but still another good song. There is a cool jam near the end of the tune.5. Let it Go... Not as good. DD yells "YEAH" right before the chorus. Be prepared, it's loud. It scared me to death the first time I heard it. Anyhow, the chorus kind of reminded me of the Firehouse tune (Don't treat me bad) - sounds dated. Moving on...6. Only the Strong Will Survive... Not as good as the earlier songs. The guitar solo is nice but not enough to save the song.7. Wild & Dangerous... Good song. Nice use of acoustic guitar. The tempo changes make the song much more interesting. 8. Time Passes By... ahhh well, it's a ballad. Danny sings well on this song. {He should sing more and stop yelling- "YEAH" like in Let it Go... that really scared me}. The piano adds mood, it gives the song `texture'. 9. Destiny... Very good song. Just plain rocks...enough said! Nice bass, guitar and keyboard tripling- nice and clean. You know, this is the "SAVE US" type-song that appeared on SLIT. DD smokes on the solo. My favorite tune of Danziland. 10. Fool... Good, well thought out song. Good Lyrics as well. There is another cool jam at the end of this song. 11. All or Nothing... Average tune. The song still rocks but I know they could have done better. 12. What Can I Say... (Bonus tune). Well, what can I say? It's just an average song. I have the Japanese import. This Cd has all of the heart that was found on SLIT. The songs that rock really rock and the songs that are average are really average. I still have to see their live show. I wish DD and crew all the best. I can't wait to here DD next release "Danzilla" in 2006."
