This is Cohen's third full-length, following 2004's "Dannyland". His music is a blend of 60's pop melodies, Frank Zappa quirkiness, and Bukowski-esque lyrics, peppered with complex and varied musicianship. He's been making music since 1961, starting with proto-punk garage band Charleston Grotto.

"As a bizarro-rock wunderkind, and modern purveyor of the genreless melding of limited vocalization over flurried acoustic folk music, Danny Cohen has probably seen more criticism than praise in his 30-plus-year career. However, were it not for his latest album, We're All Gunna Die, this pressing malady would probably haunt Cohen for all eternity. Following the theme of death, the album peaks with songs like "Cousin Guy," a drawling, melancholy opus discussing everything and nothing in the way that only Cohen can. "Among the Cows" reveals the creepiness with which Cohen can deliver his visions as he sarcastically frets over love and peace. This certainly isn't an album for everyone. But I'd venture to guess that Cohen really wouldn't care what you thought anyway.

"Actually, after hearing a number of cuts on this album, I can hear a kind of breathing limitation that Danny inflicts on himself that actuates into short tough phrasing. The only problem with this inforced style is that it's like a hole in a fishing net...only some fish get caught, and some will always get away. It's like staying in a certain key for many years....you think you're continually mining new material but after a while, it's just diamonds...never food or drink.

Gotta move now...here comes that cheeseball."

"You have to be in the mood to actively listen to music that will make you uneasy. This stuff isn't on an even keel, and you probably have to be a bit insane to appreciate it. Buy this album if you want a complete change of pace."
