Miro Classical Records is pleased to announce the release of classical pianist Angela Jia Kim's debut album, Dances and Fantasies. The CD features compositions by Ravel, Schubert, Scriabin, and Mozart. Dances and Fantasies explores different dances by Maurice Ravel and the use of the fantasy form by three very different composers: the classical yet improvisatory W.A. Mozart, the colorful and sensual Alexander Scriabin, and the poetic yet bold Franz Schubert in his ground-breaking Wanderer Fantasy. "I think that music should make people want to dance, sing, or use their imagination in a way not possible other than through music,?says Angela. "The concept of Dances and Fantasies was born one night when I attended a performance by the New York City Ballet. The ballet was set to a suite by Ravel, and everything from the costumes to the scenery created a fantasy-like atmosphere. It was absolutely riveting, and I wanted to re-create this experience in the album. The pieces that I chose really are musical stories that are so vividly described through rhythm, color, sound, and emotion.?
