"I've been in radio now for well over a decade and in that time I've been fortunate to see a LOT of concerts...you name it, from Van Halen to ZZ Top to Bruce Willis (yes he DOES perform) and of course, from my home town of Portland, Oregon, The Dan Reed Network. I have seen these amazing guys perform 3 separate times over the years, and quite honestly they are one of the top 5 bands I have EVER seen live. The Dan Reed Network is bigger in Europe than they are here in the States, and in '90 they were picked to be the opening act for the Rolling Stones on their European tour and to celebrate, they staged a free concert in Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland...yes, I said FREE. It ranks to this day as my all-time favorite concert. If you are a fan of techno-pop with a very pronounced rock edge to it, The Dan Reed Network is definitely a MUST HAVE.Their CD 'SLAM' is another on my list of all-time favorites. I just CANNOT recommend these guys enough--and it has NOTHING to do with being a hometown prejudice, BELIEVE me. These guys are really THAT GOOD. If you haven't heard 'Rainbow Child' or 'Stronger Than Steel' you have yet to hear two of the greatest power ballads of the past 20 YEARS--and the biggest crime in music over the past couple of decades is that The Dan Reed Network never received the notoriety they so VERY MUCH deserved. But that isn't all, you want dance tracks, or the incredibly catchy 'Under My Skin' and 'Tiger In A Dress' and'Make It Easy' are some of the most radio-friendly tunes I have ever heard that did NOT make it on the radio. IF you EVER get the chance to see these guys live, do NOT pass it up. It has been a loooong time since I have seen them, and to be frank, I don't even know if they are even still together, but if you can get a hold of this LIVE CD, fork out the $18.00 'cuz it IS worth it. (oh yeah, grab 'Slam', too--it's one of THE best)."
Where have you gone?

"My favorite band! I've seen these guys live 3 times, as the opening act for Eddie Money, at Bumbershoot, and at Parkers in Seattle. They are incredible on CD, but even better live! Dan Reed went into the crowd at Parkers and did some grinding with my girlfriend to the song "Leave Your Hat On", she still talks about it to this day. It is a crime that they didnt have the commercial success that so many lesser bands have had. Cruise Together, and Under My Skin are my personal favorites, but you cannot go wrong with any song on this album, it has it all. Spread the word about how good they are, maybe they will make a comeback. We miss you guys!"

"Is there no justice in Rock music?Dan Reed has everything;great riffs ,dynamics ,melodies to die for, image and philosophy. These days albums can be 60 to 80 percent dross and yet sell by the truckload .Why did the record companies let this band fade ? Surely the time is right for DRN to grab this industry by the balls and give us all a lift.I've already ordered the latest DRN album-"Adrenaline Sky".If none of you have heard DRN ,find any album with "Rainbow Child" on it and ask yourself "How did we live without this music for so long?""
