Off The Hook!

"First of all, all I have to say is WHOA! This album is one of the best by a young female solo artist I've heard in a while. Damita a.k.a. Damita Haddon, wife of Gospel's Golden Boy, Deitrick Haddon is blazing the same trail as Mary Mary did this year by being one of the first Gospel artists to be signed with, secular label Atlantic Records, a deal she landed in the middle of their attempts to sign Deitrick. Atlantic is the label that BeBe Winans was on when he did his first album, but unfortunately things didn't work out with them and now he's on Motown. I plead the blood right now against anything like that happening to Damita! The album starts off with the hot, hot track "Why", a song in which she asks "Why did you give your love to someone else? [instead of God]". It basically teaches the age old biblical lesson that "The arm of flesh will fail you" [and I know that's right!]. Then there's the explosive rock and hip flavored "Truth", which features a short rap by Toby MacKeehan of the Christian rock band DC Talk. Next are "Life" and "Spirit Inside" two other hot, hot, hot joints on the album. After this is the short, sweet, and beautiful passion ballad "Calvary", then "Hold On To Your Faith", a remake of the version of the version she sung with her husband, Deitrick Haddon and the Voices Of Unity's first album 'Live The Life', personally I liked that version much better. When I bought the CD I thought it was gonna be on there, but it wasn't. The new version is alright but not better than the original. Then onto the radio joints, joints that I think if she made a really, really, good professional, concept video for her album could go multi platinum in just a matter of months. These joints are the very R&B inspired "I Can Feel Him", which has a simple and catchy hook, the main ingredient to a hit song and "Won't Be Afraid", my favorite song, which is about somebody getting over a bad or abusive relationship and finding God, people can really relate to this one. Damita, if you ever read this, I just wanna say, make a video for "Won't Be Afraid"! The album ends with "Real Friend", another hot R&B-ish joint and the "Wedding Song" which features and is written by Damita's aforementioned husband Deitrick Haddon, then "Day Go By" and the encouraging "Holdin' On", to end the album. This album is the bomb! With the right marketing, Damita can be a household name within a year!"
Absolutely Fascinating!

"Have you ever listen to today's R&B and liked the beat but disappointed by the lyrics? Well here is something that will satisfy the pickiest palate when it comes to great Christian R&B music for the 30ish crowd. I have long since given up on today's R&B and have never been a fan of contemporary gospel, but Damita's debut album has definitely changed my entire perspective of contemporary gospel music! Trin-i-tee 5:7, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, watch out! This is a definite winner!"
POWERFUL STUFF!!

"Damita is probably already on of the best female vocalist in gospel music! This Cd, is very Powerful! Damita can tells you like it is and there is nothing you can say about it! I was totally shocked when i heard that my Godsister Damita was coming out with a Cd. I knew the girl could sing, but since i haven't seen or heard her such a long time, i didn't know how she sounded. Trust me when i heard this Cd, it all came back to me. This woman has enough power and passion in her voice to make the deepest sinner repent!! I'm serious, i was totally blown away with her. I wanted to call her up and say "I can't believe YOU". Damita and my family go way back, even before i was born and all i can tell you is this, there is noone like her and noone who can blow like her, she will give Whitney Houston, mariah carey, and yolanda adams a run for all their money. Seriously. The beats on this Cd are BLAZIN'!!! The lyrics are sincere and for real, and the talent is toatlly there. Damita is gonna blow up big time!!!!!!!!!"
