My mission will be to review all D*Note records, because they have been criminally neglected. This is a fine successor to Babel, with a shift in emphasis to sparse, instrumental pieces a la Steve Reich, though the acid jazz and Rap tinge still remains. The title track sounds hopelessly dated now, but apart from that, the whole record works as a whole, with Place In The City and The Garden Of Earthly Delights being the standout tracks, both clocking about nine minutes each. Not quite packing the musical and lyrical punch of the debut, it still remains a rich and fascinating record, full of beautiful musical moments." |
