CD Reviews

Not what I expected, but fantastic anyway.

"Classic music by one of the most under-rated stars of all time. We need the chart hits, Tennessee Moon, Candy Kisses, 'Tis Sweet to be Remembered, Strange Little Girl. This is an awesome set, but open your eyes. Give us his hits before the rarities. The notes are fantastic and the remastering is the best I have heard of any King/Starday recordings. This is a very classy release. Every collection needs this CD. Now if we could only get his big hits."
The BEST Collection Of COWBOY COPAS!!

"It puzzles me why some extemely popular country artists fade into obscurity while others' musical legacies are preserved for future generations. Cowboy Copas unfortunatly has fallen into the category of "forgotten artist" and he seems to be remembered more for his demise in a plane crash with Patsy Cline, than for any of his cool country hits. I guess that just makes them all the sweeter when and if you find them. So if you are looking at this page then you must know just how excellent Copas' music is. And this collection is the best! There is not a single clunker on the entire CD and you will find it very hard not to sing along with Cowboy once you get to know the songs. Famous for his tricky guitar playing, you will also find it hard not to get up and dance along! His music could best be described as a morph of Honky Tonk, Hillbilly and Polka! Just a very cool cat who seems to have been as nice in real life as he was hypnotizing on stage (from what others have written about him). Maybe someday Bear Family records will release a long overdue and much-deserved box set of all of Cowboy Copas' material as they do with more mainstream artists. Until then, try to hunt this one down since it is no longer in print...you will not be disapointed!"
