Have an old fashioned Cowboy Feeling Christmas !!
Carrie Snodgrass | South Bend, IN | 11/25/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Right off the bat -- while you could TECHNICALLY call the genre' country-ISH, really for the rest of the world this is NOT a "country" Album by any means. These songs are seldom heard magnificent treasures recorded by CLASSIC singing Cowboy (and Cowgirl) Stars in the 1930's, 40's 50's etc. that pour the warm feeling of Christmas out of your Stereo. It feels like an old fashioned American Christmas. You will play this over and over again EVERY evening before Christmas because it feels so warm and Home-y when you listen to it -- like being inside a cabin in the snow with only the light of the wood burning fire place, a cup of hot chocolate or cider in your hands, your feet up and your closest family and friends are all around you--sorry about that--I'm listening to this album as I'm writing this review.
My friends come over and are always impressed every year when I put Cowboy Christmas on.
These songs are fun and really FUNNY too, like "Santa's gonna come here in a Stagecoach" and "I'm gonna Lasso Santa Claus" (both circa 1930's, 40's with PERFECT original recordings). Kids love these songs (my 8 yr old neice and her friends do anyway) and all the tracks are really RETRO-COOL for young teens/adults (my age)without a doubt. Most everyone asks what store I bought mine at. I got mine here at Amazon.com after I heard it at a friends house 2 years ago in Santa Barbara, CA. He "steered" me here to Amazon.com and now I give these away every Christmas -- try it out--the price is right.
