"This album is just that. Every song here is very mellow and very spacious. The sparse instrumentation is sooo very charming and his laid back vocal styling only adds to the charm of this album. The first and only song I heard from him was "Cool Paradise" on this jazz program that came on sunday mornings on 92Q (92.1 WQQK) in Nashville, TN. I was hooked cuz it was sooo mellow and cool, and I hadn't heard anything like it before. Well, I searched for this song for years before I found it on this album. And to top it all off, I was treated to the other 11 songs as well. What a nice surprise! Anyway, this is a very cool album and if you're interested in it, stop your quirying and get this one. It's (in the ghetto vernacular) a worthy cop. Bye!!!!"
BEN SIDRAN ON THE CHILLOUT SIDE...

"... I bought this CD upon its initial release after hearing the title track and "She Steps Into A Dream" on a Go Jazz CD sampler... although Ben Sidran made the biggest impression on me, I was sufficiently taken with the other artists (Brit legend Georgie Fame, Ricky Peterson & Bob Malach) that I went out and bought their CDs, too... the original label (Bluemoon/Go Jazz along with Sidran producing and playing on all the other artists' recordings) was cultivating a cool "after hours" sound that was a form of smooth jazz "chillout" before it became the genre that it is today... ahead of its time, still terrific listening today."
