Synopsis

Album Description
Full title - I Like Compulsion & Compulsion Likes Me. One Little Indian release this 17 track compilation by Compulsion, one of the brightest stars of the post Nirvana era. Formed in North London in 1992 Compulsion came to people's attention through their incendiary & unpredictable live performances where the band rarely emerged unscathed. Releasing two EP's on their own Fabulon label to massive acclaim the band were promptly snapped up by One Little Indian. A mini album 'Safety', & two full length albums, 'Comforter', featuring the hit single 'Mall Monarchy' & 'Future Is Medium', were released by the label. Before splitting in 1996 due to the massive pressure of their worldwide commitments, Compulsion had become a major influence on both sides of the Atlantic. 'I Like Compulsion & Compulsion Likes Me' is proof that their music sounds as fresh & thrilling today as the day it was recorded. 2002.

CD Reviews

Excellent Compilation CD!!!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"A great band who broke up after only 2 full length CDs and a string of EP's. Just a great, underrated Alternative band that deserved so much more. I can't say enough about them. Compulsion should have been huge. I was lucky that I got see them in concert twice and meet the band both times. Great guys and funny too.... BUY this if you like Alternative music in the vein of Nirvana with a mix of the Pixies doing surf music but with the Sex pistols punch."
