Evolving from a group known as The Robin, The Coasters sustained period of success came with a series of songs penned by Mike Leiber and Jerry Stoller. Their compositions for Elvis Presley, most notably 'Hound Dog', had already ensured they had made their mark, but the more Doo Wop style they followed with The Coasters gained them new legions of fans.
