CD Reviews

Best space disco album ever recorded!
funkmosphere | los angeles, ca. | 04/11/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album is the super bomb! Recorded in 1975, it was way ahead of it`s time. It was originally released on P&P records out of the N.Y.C. and was produced by Patrick Adams, the same talented producer of the soul group Black Ivory and later soulful disco outfits of the late 70`s and early 80`s such as Musique (performers of the controversial "Push, Push In The Bush" disco anthem fom 1978), Phreek, Sine, Venus Dodson, and even the Salsoul Orchestra to name a few. All six tracks are incredible, with the standouts being "Atmosphere Strut", "Disco Juice", and "Dust To Dust" with Adams` emphasis on over the top synthesizer disco/funk arrangements and sounds. If you dug Peter Browns` "A Fantasy Love Affair" album, then you`ll dig this one even more because you can tell the whole vibe of that record was influenced by this Cloud One recording. This album preceded Peter Browns` album by two years and even has Peter Brown listed as an executive producer and co-writer of track two on the album called "Charleston Hopscotch". So for all you real disco/funk heads who think you know what it`s really all about; hold it .... think again. You don`t know what it`s all about until you`ve copped this album and added it to your collection of high quality music purchases. Trust me; you won`t be let down. This really is the real stuff here ya`ll ! Respect to the folks at Hot Productions down in Miami for re-releasing this album on c.d. format and for also knowing what the real stuff is all about. What a relief ! Peace, -funkmosphere(L.A.)"
