Whatever they do they do not only well, but great. Always with the ability to find music and performers of first rank in unexpected places. Based on this, Claudio Santoro was a first class composer. And a great symphonist. Music that is modern yet accessible; full of color, rhythm, bones and meat.
These symphonies are definitely better than the more famous Villa-Lobos'. I just hope BIS embarks in a whole cycle. And that is why I am writing this. Lovers of modern symphonic music should try this CD. The performances are first class and the sound outstanding." |
