Clara Rodriguez was born in Venezuela and, after winning a scholarship from the Venezuelan Arts Council, trained in London at the Royal College of Music under Phyllis Sellick. In 1904, Moisés Moleiro was born in Zaraza, Guarico State, where he grew up listening to the music of the Venezuelan plains. This early contact with his homeland music can be clearly heard throughout his compositions, especially in the Sonatinas and Toccatas. This selection of his works contains most of his piano pieces and gives interesting insight into his compositional development.
